Last week, my two dogs and I escaped what could have been a terrible catastrophe, and just like the inconvenience of this snow and ice, it has made me think deeply about life in general. I am very blessed to be here today doing this job, a job that I find satisfying and rewarding in so many ways. Homeowners welcome me into their homes with a smile and with true southern hospitality for to take photos and interview them. As we “ooh” and “ahh” over their homes, let’s remember what really makes these houses special—the owners themselves. The feature homes in this issue are all incredibly diverse and are furnished in different styles and tastes. We have amazing before and after features in the focus section and several promotional features for you to enjoy. Remember, you can subscribe to Stages®Read the Latest Issue
Every one of us has a God-given talent. Some know early in life what their talent is, and some, well, it takes a little while for us to figure it out! I have found that mine is to bring beautiful photographs and stories of fabulous homes and gardens throughout our great state of Mississippi to our readers. These homes are occupied by people in all stages of their lives—from first homes to retired couples. They range from small cabins by a lake to expansive homes in the middle of the city. We have a wonderful 2018 year planned at Stages® MISSISSIPPI and can’t wait to show you these homes all around Mississippi. To close, if I can give one piece of advice to anyone that might listen, it would be this: In Jeremiah 29:11, it says, “For I know theRead the Issue
The holiday seasons are upon us and, for many, this is the time of the year we think about what we are most thankful for and ponder the true meaning of Christmas. We have put together a very special focus section for you, Entertaining at Home, which contains beautifully decorated homes for the holidays. My family also loves to decorate our home for Thanksgiving and Christmas, but as much as I do love Santa Claus and presents under the tree, let us not forget the true meaning of Christmas. “For unto you is born this day in the city of David, a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.” (Luke 2:11). On the inside back cover are four non-profit organizations that would love your support. They fill a tremendous void in our communities and change lives for the people they serve.Read the Issue
In this issue, our focus section is Fabulous Kitchens and Baths . Wait until you see them! We don’t call them “fabulous” for nothing. We were blessed with the opportunity to photograph beautiful homes and speak with local interior designers, architects, and contractors to pull together this issue that I know our readers will hold on to for years to come. And as always, we visited Starkville, Oxford, Hattiesburg, and Cleveland for the perfect layout of tailgating at home. Sometimes, there is just no better place to party than in your home with your loved ones. You can find scrumptious finger food with the Bulldogs, beautiful outdoor tailgating with the Rebels, delicious southern comfort food with the Golden Eagles, and Tex-Mex with the Fighting Okra.Read the Issue
Our Focus section in the summer issue is Family Living & Summer Escapes. Featured in this section is a fabulous pool area, a family area at Sunnybrook Children’s Home, and a feature on coastal living. I’d like to elaborate on Sunnybrook Children’s Home. Since 1963, it has served as a residential group home for children who have been physically, mentally, and emotionally abused and rescued from their parents through the court system. Sunnybrook is designed for children aged 6–18 and provides services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with house parents to cater to their needs. Sunnybrook’s services foster the development of morality, responsibility, and spiritual strength through a belief in God where children are taught to hope and trust again. Without community support, Sunnybrook would cease to be in a position to help the children they areRead the Issue

Our “Top Ten” in this issue features breakfast and dining room tables. As we near the holiday seasons, we thought our readers might need to go shopping for a new table for friends and family to gather around. So, this issue offers ten beautiful ones for you to choose from. As is usual in the November/December issue, our focus section feature is “Entertaining at Home”. However, we put a different twist on the section this year by featuring three of our advertisers’ homes, as well as my own. And of course, they are all very different! But as much as I do love Santa Claus, decorating for Christmas, and presents under the tree, let us not forget the true meaning of Christmas, “For unto you is born this day in the city of David, a Savior, who is Christ theRead the Latest Issue

But more importantly, please be sure to check out the inside back cover where we recognize non-profit organizations in every issue. The four non-profits for this issue are in each of these college towns. We would encourage you to support these important organizations because they do so much good for the people of Mississippi.
